Update on the Region 6 Engine/Tender Water Handling Agreement

For those of you that are on the current Region 6 Water Handling Agreement below is an update to the solicitation progress. You can also use the information below to review the 2010 soliciation and make comment to the agency.

The VIPR development group is migrating all of the data from EaTIS and the Choosing By Advantage (CBA) database into VIPR at this time. They anticipate having this accomplished by the first or second week in April.

At that time, Kermadine will post the solicitation for the 2009 Waterhandling Agreement extension to FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov) for vendors to download.

The easiest way to pull the solicitation is:

Go into www.fbo.gov, and click on the button for "find opportunities" -- view by agency.


When you get to the next page, go to page 2 and select Department of Agriculture.


When you get to the next screen, type VIPR in the Keyword box and click on GO


You will then get all solicitations that will be awarded through VIPR, as well as the drafts of the 2010 Waterhandling Agreement and Heavy Equipment with Water Agreement (skidgines, pumper cats, soft tracks, transports).

Please review the 2010 draft solicitations and send us your comments. The
2009 Waterhandling Agreement will be posted at this site in April. A message will be sent as soon as it is posted.

All 2009 employee records for ENGB and WTOP for your resources have to be sent
to:

The employee records for your crew members on your engines can also be sent prior to May 15.

You can train, qualify and promote employees after that date, but you must have an qualified operator for each resource prior to May 15.

The solicitation for the equipment inspection for the water handling agreement has been posted to FedBizOpps. It will be awarded the last week in April.

The 20% of engines and 20% of tenders to be inspected will be determined prior to that time. We will send that list out also. All replacement equipment will be inspected.
